Cost Index

With this cost index tool, each warehouse can easily calculate and monitor the monthly evolution of internal costs. Each user can create multiple cost profiles (general + customer specific) and store therein multiple cost spreads. Based on these cost spreads, one obtains a detailed price evolution table and a graphical overview.

Each BECOLD member can, through this tool, validly incorporate any cost increases/decreases in storage prices.

If desired, a monthly summary email can be sent with the specific price trends.

Cost spread is linked to 4 official indices

Each warehouse has the ability to vary the "values" of these indexes according to the share they hold within their own company.

Following values can be distributed:

  • Treatment
  • Storage
  • Freezing

 

Those in themselves can be divided between :

  • Wages (Labor Cost Index)
  • Energy (Electricity index)
  • Other (Consumer price index)

Furthermore, we also share the ITLB index to visualize the increase in your distribution costs.

ITLB Cost price index

The "ITLB Cost Price Index for the benefit of road freight transport" provides a valid basis by publishing the cost index for transportation related activities on a monthly basis. ITLB is an independent knowledge institute conducting research in the field of traffic, transport, infrastructure and logistics

Consumer price index.

An index is used to measure the evolution of "life expectancy. This economic indicator measures the price trend of a basket of goods and services purchased by households and businesses that are representative of their consumption habits.

The electricity index

The evolutions of the component "energy" used in the calculation of consumer price index and published monthly in the table "Indexes by product group from 2006" (COICOP, line 04.5.1.0) .

Labor cost index.

This includes a warehouse's total expenditure on employing employees. They include direct wages for the reference period, bonuses, benefits in kind, statutory social security contributions, contractual and voluntary social contributions based on collective bargaining agreements, social benefits borne by the employer, vocational training costs, taxes, minus subsidies received.
