BECOLD commissioned a study of the liability risks of some of its members and produced an informative document with points of interest in terms of risks in relation to sectoral storage conditions, liabilities and a proposal around minimum requirements of insurance coverage.
Each insured person's situation is different. Thus, the contents of the document should be checked off against each person's individual situation. That is also why the results of this study can in no way be regarded as advice tailored to each company.
The purpose of this study and the final report was to provide BECOLD members with a general framework with key points of interest against which to test their own civil liability insurance and so that each member is able (with knowledge) to have their existing policy updated by their broker.
Through a collaborative approach, BECOLD members obtained important benchmark information that allowed them to negotiate much better individual insurance terms (coverages and premiums).
